A hidden gem in the town
Yes, Mae Rong Son, we are not wrong spell. This word “Rong” is main Thai speak and “Hong” is Northern Thai accent. Please do not confuse and let try to learn Thai accent.
This is a small Thai restaurant with an extensive menu dishes. Serves special meal and daily options available. Located behind Wat Jong Kham. Just one street up from the lake, on the circle road of temples.
One of my favorite restaurants was the Mae Rong Son and a hidden gem in the town. Relaxing and sitting in the atmosphere garden as home and also lovely with flower and orchid.
I ate there recently with my friend, Pla Tu (her name comes from a kind of ‘fish’ in Thai) and as always, we ordered more food than we could possibly eat (order it less spicy if you’re not used to real Thai food). And we sat on a large water jar table.
It is an awesome place to lunch at cheap prices you’d never find in a big city. The most customer is an officer who working in the town and less so for tourists.
This is family-owned and operated in prides itself on its friendly service. If you’re adventurous and not a picky eater, you may just find this restaurant becomes one of your favorite Thai eating experiences.
