Chan’s Trekking Tour Guide

This is the senior trekking tour guide in Mae Hong Son. He has experience and expertise with many plants, herbs, insects, and wild animals. On the route, he will be able to explain and chat with you along the way.

As I wrote in the article Trekking Mae Hong Son, trekking on the same route may yield different results depending on the tour guideā€™s expertise or the travel agency you booked with. Of course, price is indeed a variable.

Gateway to the forest

The key to opening your eyes to the beauty of northwestern Thailand’s mountain nature and culture is education. See the beauty of breathtaking vistas and experience the peace and silence of the remote.

Chan’s nature walks guide you through light green paddy fields, rapid rivers, tumbling waterfalls, deep green forests, and hidden villages.

Benefit from Chan Nature Walks

Chan’s long-term relationships and experience guide you through the complex pathway system used by the local hill tribes. Along those paths, Chan will open your eyes to the life lived by the people in the forest.

Herbs and hunting techniques, as well as the various forest fruits and how the locals cultivate the land, allow you to observe nature rarely seen by the untrained eye.

He can answer your questions and point out details of the environment while you breathe in the fresh mountain air and stretch your legs in one of the most unique and untouched regions of Thailand.

Much more service

When you arrive at a hill tribe village or a forest campsite for your overnight stay, he will personally prepare your delicious Thai meal, comprising several dishes, over an open fire.

He also explains how the locals, who have lived in the area for over 200 years, make tools, care for their animals, and grow their food.

Chan’s relationship with the hill tribe people is genuine and has been developed over his lifetime of visiting them. That is obvious in the way he and his clients are welcomed in each hill tribe village.

Hello, my wife and I are from the US. We are staying in Ban Pha Bong until the 20th. We are interested in doing some day hikes in the Mae Hong Son area and floating down the Pai river in a raft or in kayaks.
We’re also interested to know if it is possible to see wild Gibbons in the region.
We have a rental car and can use as needed.

      Thank you!
